VIA FERRATA GEIERWAND

A long tour awaits you

The very well-secured Geierwand via ferrata is an ideal tour for beginners and a true nature experience. Nevertheless, you'll need a good level of fitness for this adventure, as it is a long tour.

At the Geierwand via ferrata, you can choose between 2 variants: an easier tour and a more difficult one. Depending on which level you choose, there are two different entry points. Both variants lead to the same destination at the top.

This climbing tour takes you through an impressive mountain landscape, across several rope bridges and a “Gams-Steig” (mountain goat trail), to a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Inn Valley.

The highlights of this climbing tour are definitely the rope bridge between an exposed rock pinnacle and the main wall, as well as the most difficult section of the tour, where you can look down almost vertically about 350 metres to the valley floor (difficulty level C, but secured with plenty of clamps). Not for the faint of heart!

At the end, a short forest path leads directly to the exit. Here you’ve certainly earned a break before heading back. The descent demands your full concentration again, as it goes back down through a fairly steep mountain forest.

For the Geierwand via ferrata, it is essential to be absolutely free from vertigo and to have good stamina. Sure-footedness is indispensable here.

ATTENTION: FOR THIS TOUR, LONG WAITING TIMES ARE OFTEN TO BE EXPECTED. AVAILABLE ON REQUEST ONLY!

When climbing a via ferrata route you start well equipped (climbing harness with climbing set, climbing helmet and hiking shoes) and therefore safely on a secured climbing path, up along the mountain face. Steel ladders, steel pins, brackets (which serve as steps) and steel cables (attached to the rock) help you climb safely to the top. Via ferrata is perfect introduction into climbing. Experience the high mountains and peaks without any climbing experience. No fear of heights and a surefooted step are required for this great experience.
